Academy Etiquette
- Students must wear a CLEAN New Life Academy uniform.
- Gi Class: Academy Gi, Rash Guard, Pants & Belt.
- No-Gi Class: Academy Rash Guard, Shorts, Spats/Leggings.
- Proper hygiene is MANDATORY.
- Dirty uniforms or poor hygiene may result in being asked to sit out.
- Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed short.
- Changing must be done in the designated area.
- Gi or rash guards are required at ALL times.
- Bow when entering and exiting the mat.
- Classes begin formally.
- Line up opposite the instructor by belt rank.
- Leaving early requires instructor permission.
- No shoes, food, or drinks on the mat.
- Water only in designated areas.
- Stay off the banner-side wall.
- Do not lean on it or reach into the outside entrance area.
- Drink water off the mats.
- Bottles are not allowed on the mat surface.
- Address black belt instructors as Professor.
- Remain respectful, quiet, and attentive during instruction.
- No aggressive language, profanity, or cell phone use during class.
- Remove all jewelry and metal objects before training.
- Report any injuries, medical, or skin conditions before class.
- Jiu-Jitsu is for self-defense and protection only.
