DANIEL CORDEIRO

HiStory "Mo'olelo"
Daniel has been training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since the age of five, growing up on the mats in Hawaii under the guidance of his father, Professor Kahana. Through years of training, teaching, and community involvement, he developed a strong foundation built in discipline, respect, and consistency.

He earned all of his youth belt ranks under 8-time Jiu-Jitsu World Champion, Robson Moura, developing high-level technique and a deep understanding of structure and fundamentals in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Daniel has consistently assisted with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, seminars, and youth programs throughout Hawaii. He has served as the primary uke in seminars, demonstrating techniques, and has been involved in demonstrations, camps, and academy training programs. In high school, he assisted in resource classes, helping demonstrate techniques while building strong leadership and communication skills.
He has extensive experience working with children in youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs throughout Hawaii. Daniel has led kids classes independently, running warm-ups, guiding students, and teaching techniques in a structured setting. Known for his patience and attention to detail, he creates a positive, disciplined, and supportive learning environment for all students.
In addition to coaching, Daniel is an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor who continues to grow and test himself at a high level. While Hawaii is home, he regularly travels to Texas to train, compete, and assist with coaching gaining broader experience and bringing that knowledge back into his teaching.
Daniel now brings his experience, leadership, and passion back to the Kohala community, with the goal of helping build a strong and authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. Under the direct guidance of Professor Kahana, he is committed to developing students through structured training, discipline, and character both on and off the mats.
His mission is to inspire, mentor and support families in the Kohala community through martial arts, fostering a fun, safe, and family oriented environment where everyone can experience the spirit of Aloha. Coach Daniel is a Level Up Chiropractic, In His Image and Grapplers 4 Christ Sponsored Athlete.
