DANIEL CORDEIRO
Our Story | Mo'olelo
Daniel Cordeiro has trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since age 5, growing up on the mats in Hawai'i under the guidance of his father, Professor Kahana. Through years of training, teaching, and community involvement, he developed a strong foundation built on discipline, respect, and consistency.
Daniel earned all of his youth belt ranks under eight-time Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Robson Moura, his blue belt under Professor Kahana, and his purple belt under three-time Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Professor Horlando Monteiro. This lineage has given him high-level technique and a deep understanding of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu structure and fundamentals.

Daniel has assisted with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, seminars, and youth programs throughout Hawai'i. He has served as the primary uke during seminars and participated in demonstrations, camps, and academy training programs. In high school, he assisted in resource classes by demonstrating techniques and developing strong leadership and communication skills.

Daniel has extensive experience working with children in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu programs throughout Hawai'i. He has independently led children's classes, conducted warm-ups, guided students, and taught techniques in a structured setting. Known for his patience and attention to detail, Daniel creates a positive, disciplined, and supportive learning environment for every student.

In addition to coaching, Daniel is an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor who continues to grow and test himself at a high level. While Hawai'i is home, he regularly travels to Texas to train, compete, and assist with coaching, gaining broader experience and bringing that knowledge back into his teaching.
Daniel now brings his experience, leadership, and passion back to the Kohala community, with the goal of helping build a strong and authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program. Under the direct guidance of Professor Kahana, he is committed to developing students through structured training, discipline, and character both on and off the mats.
His mission is to inspire, mentor, and support families in the Kohala community through martial arts, creating a fun, safe, family-oriented environment where everyone can experience the spirit of Aloha. Coach Daniel is a sponsored athlete with Level Up Chiropractic and Grapplers 4 Christ.
